Starting in Charleston this is one very long day, or a great overnight ride with a stop in Wilmington. There is a lot to see on this ride with a lot of stops if you like. We do.From Charleston to Georgetown through the Francis Marion forest, its peaceful Its a good warm up with little traffic. A stop in Mclellanville is a great idea and youll be glad you did if you take it all the way to the shrimp boats and wharf. TW Grahams is worth a separate trip to have great seafood. Rustic and homey - very - great.Stops from Mclellanville include Georgetown - take the right turn and see the historic downtown. Buzzs Roost is a great spot for a break. Go upstairs to the deck if its nice. Next is Murrells Inlet. Lots there. From Murrells inlet, this route does the tourist thing into Myrtle Beach and through the grand strand. Its a great freak show if you are up for it and if not then just stay on 17N and bypass it. We like to take it all in. Then its up through N. Myrtle and to Southport.Southport is the special sauce. Read carefully! Lol. Take the ferry from Southport to Fort Fisher and ride up the coast through Carolina Beach and into Wilmington. From there Wrightsville beach is the best stop. Blue Water Grill is a destination to cap off the ride.Again, this is one long day ride and will eat up 8-10 hours easily.. An overnight is perfect.
