Worth riding this road for views at Lizard point. Can be ridden quickly with care but the road changes from wide to narrow, twisty to straight, so keep alert. Riding south into the low winter sun on a damp track was interesting to say the least! The journey from Lizard back north was cracking.

I agree with the previous review, however as a local, I would add that the state of the road is very poor and avoid like the plague when wet. There are lots of Farm entries and Cow S**t on the road throughout the year. For the Love of God watch out for the rubbernecking Emmetts (thats holidaymakers) with their MPVs and caravans, however the views from the Lizard point make up for all the shortcomings!

Start in the small market town of Helston, avoid busy summer as this a holiday route but is usable in the mornings at this time. Sweep past the Royal navy air station at culdrose, try not to fall off while looking at the aircraft! A Rural country road starts thereafter with a few corners that sneak up on you. You could opt to pop down to Mullion cove halfway down as a slight detour (B3296). In a few places there is the opportunity to open up the throttle. This route is good for sports bikes and cruisers, there is something for everyone. The harbour is spectacular. At the Lizard try one of Ann's famous pasties and take it right down to the end where you will find a cafe overlooking the most southerly point on the mainland. Return to Helston and reward yourself with a pint of 'spingo' (ask for 'middle') in the Blue Anchor (but have only one pint...tiz proper strong stuff me 'ansum).
