This 150km route travelling west in a loop from Invercargill offers a very peaceful and fun trip for motorcycles. The northern part of the loop is a bit flatter and less spectacular than the richer more dramatic southern part of this loop but both sections are great for motorcycling. The southern section passes through the Catlins, an area where rare birds and penguins can be seen. Both sections join at Kaka point where Nugget Point and the lighthouse are within easy reach (one of the most iconic landforms in this area) If you don’t have time to do the complete loop, I recommend starting from the south and simply returning the same way as time permits.
